The reputation of the Dehiwala Zoo wasn't that great in the past. To be honest, it was so bad that I didn't want to visit. But in the last few years things changed, thanks to Yelp and other rating websites. Most of the animals are kept appropriate today. And it's getting better and better. Meanwhile I like the zoo a lot and do not miss visiting it on my stays in Sri Lanka. Only their discriminating price policy is still worth a criticism. Meanwhile the cost-benefit-ratio for white-skinned people is quiet negative compared to other zoos in the world.
